GHS is working to provide health care including hospitalization at the door steps of rural community especially for the poor. GHS is planning to establish Health Complex at Bogra near the Eye Hospital where 300 bedded Hospital with provision of future expansion up to 500 beds, a Medical College and Nursing Institute will be established.

The hospital will provide basic facilities of Medicines, Surgery, Obst & Gynae, ENT, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics to rural, community with special emphasis on the disadvantaged classes. Besides the basic facilities, supportive services of radiology & imaging, anesthesia, pathological laboratory, microbiology biochemistry, dentist & psychiatry blood will be available in the hospital.Super Specialties of cardiology Nephrology Neurology gastroenterology will be started in first phase of the hospital presently there is no super specialty treatment facilities in the entire catchment area of the hospital while incidence of cardiac disease, Kidney ailments, accident cases are very common.The hospital will establish linkage with health centers, dispensaries and private practitioners of the surrounding areas and serve as secondary and tertiary level hospital.

Bangladesh health sector is suffering for huge deficiency of nursing professionals. The Doctors vs. Nurses ratio in Bangladesh is 3:1 which just opposite of the internationally proclaimed standard of 1:3 (WHO). To address this issue the second Nursing Institute will be set in the Health Complex which will generate employment opportunities for local youths.

Scarcity of doctors is the key issue of health sector in Bangladesh. Govt. and Private enterprise is trying to increase the number of doctors by setting medical college but the effort is not adequate compare to the population of Bangladesh. GHS is going to share this responsibility and decided to establish a medical college in proposed Health Complex at Bogra.
