Grameen Health Care Services Limited (GHS), a leading player in the healthcare sector particularly in the Eye Care treatment, has announced a significant charitable initiative to support flood-affected communities. The company has donated a total amount of BDT 17,48,738 which represents BDT 2,48,738 one day's salary from its employees and BDT 15,00,000 from GHS main account, to aid those impacted by the recent severe flooding.

The donation aims to provide immediate assistance to flood-affected individuals and families, addressing urgent needs such as food, shelter, and medical care. Grameen Healthcare Service Limited's initiative highlights the collective effort of its workforce to aid in recovery and rebuild affected communities.

"We recognize the severe impact these floods have had on many lives,” said Shamsul Haque Ahmed the Managing Director of Grameen Health Care Services Limited. "By contributing a day’s salary, we hope to provide some relief and support the ongoing recovery efforts. Our employees' willingness to participate in this initiative is a testament to our shared values and commitment to making a positive difference."

Grameen Eye Care Center-Mehendiganj

Grameen Eye Care Center is a primary eye care center. These centers are providing eye care services through telemedicine system. Patients from remote and rural areas are getting eye care services where ophthalmologist is not available. The Patients coming in the Grameen Eye Care Center are examined by optometrist and connected with the ophthalmologist via Video call. Ophthalmologist consults with the patients and sends prescription via internet. The optometrist of Grameen Eye Care Center prints the prescription and handover it to the patients. Critical patients are being referred to Grameen base hospital.

Grameen Eye Care Center at Mehendiganj in Barishal District has been started its journey on 10 July 2024. The Eye care Center is being Operated by Grameen GC Eye Hospital, Barishal.
